Region of Ionian Islands Governor, Theodoros Galiatsatos “A significant project is open to public use in Kefalonia”




The new Harakas Bridge, with view to the worldwide famous beach of Myrtos.

On Thursday, June 29th 2017, the new bridge in the location “Harakas”, in Kefalonia – just over the famous beach of Myrtos, was officially given to public use.

 It was constructed with the most up-to-date technologies and safety requirements.




 As of now, the vehicles traffic has become faster and more convenient between the northern and  the southern part of  Kefalonia , especially from  the airport and Argostoli -the capital of the island- to Assos and Fiskardo, and this project will facilitate the transportation for both the residents and the visitors/tourists of Ionian Islands. 

 This significant project was funded by the European Union and the Region of Ionian Islands.
In the opening ceremony - The Governor of the Region of Ionian Islands, Mr Theodoros Galiatsatos, on his right the Vice-Governor for Tourism and Insular Policy Mr Spyridon Galiatsatos, on his left the Mayor of Cephalonia Mr Alexandros Parisis (with the hat), the Vice Governor of Kefalonia Mr Panagis Drakoulogonas, the Member of Parliament of Kefalonia Mrs Afroditi Theopeftatou, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works Mr Athanasios Vourdas, the Constructor Mr Yannis Maroulis , the Vice-Mayor of tourism Mr Evangelos Kekatos and numerous other Regional and Municipal Council members.
